Yes, you can have Cortana on always on mode, but eats battery life on my laptop. The fundamental difference is that Kinect is a self contained piece of recognition tech that covers more than just voice, but gesture/body language. Cortana simply isn't able to do that level of recognition without Kinect.
I'm sorry Cortana on Window's 10 performs totally different. You don't just talk and it recognizes you. You have to actually click on the Microphone icon so it is activated, hold it so that your comment, question, or word is recorded. I have been using Cortana on my Windows computer, and I have an Xbox One. We need people with actual credible knowledge of both to speak on the subject not agenda journalists.
With Kinect your voice is instantly recognized. The funct...
Always Online and mis matched messaging hurt Microsoft's reveal of the Xbox One. Clueless gamers set the whole gaming industry back by 7 years.
Microsoft said that May 21st was for the reveal of the next Xbox. The reveal of the system outlines the advancement of the Xbox One, and it's overall features. http://kotaku.com/the-next-...
There were no excuses last gen. People have this weird idea that developers don't deserve to be given the right tools, and proper hardware to deliver great gaming content. Why in the world is it a badge of honor to spend millions of dollars developing a game by figuring out what the manufacturer was trying to do?
The Cell processor was not just meant to be for gaming. Sony was trying to compete toe to toe with Intel. They were trying to redefine the CPU market by using th...
The author obviously is at his wits end with Kojima's writing, and in many ways I do agree. Kojima San has always needed help with writing the Metal Gear games. This observation does not take away from him as a creator.
At the same time it would have been great to have heard that Kojima had brought on a team of writers to help him flesh out his perspective.
There is the difference, in fact a chasim when writing a complex story or narrative is done right....
So Spring 2016 is shaping up to be a fantastic season for Xbox One owners, right after a fine looking fall/winter 2015. This is good for gamers incoming, and already on the platform.
Christocolus, there was a previous thread questioning whether or not QB would be at 1080p. I don't quite remember all the comments, but I have to say many people agreed with your point of view that the resolution didn't need to be at 1080p for the sheer quality of a game that QB already appears to be.
Now the last thing we need is to know how good gameplay is. The shallow idea of 1080p has been put to rest as of today concerning QB.
Well QB's resolution just smacked a couple haters in the face from a previous thread on the subject.
1080p for a game that already looked stunning says quite a bit about the Xbox One growing in development, and Remedy's ability to get a quality product out the door for an anticipated title.
People these days need their hands held for everything. How could you have a cover mechanic in Tomb Raider, and just think you have to kill your way through a level? Like really?
Tomb Raider reminds me so much of Splinter Cell. Except Lara doesn't have all the gadgets that Sam Fisher has. If anyone has ever played a Splinter Cell game; you should now after this video have a clear idea that Lara Croft is a resourceful adventure character. There are going to be different wa...
Journalist like Thier are a funny lot. This was an article that was pro 3rd party gaming while pooping on exclusive games. We all know why that is. Is this author making a case for another Call Of Duty serial title? Another Assassins Creed? Madden?...Is he saying that exclusives games only matter if they come from Nintendo? This article is secreting all over itself with an agenda. Fallout 4 will be great, because it was great last generation as well. It was a third party game that thrived whe...
To be honest...Microsoft convoluted message about Xbox One is what hurt them.
If you go back and review their ideas for Xbox One they were actually moving the industry forward. They spoke about Kinect, Cloud Tech, Multitasking gaming & entertainment. Stuff we do with our smartphones, and tablets all day. My problem with the price point had little to do with Kinect, but the fact that they didn't have content from the gate that showed us why it was mandatory. Specifica...
I'm a fan of Tomb Raider. Day One, from my EGM preview with Core Games. Like many people who like Lara Croft. I'm pretty sure it didn't start with Xbox or PlayStation. It started with the character herself. Tomb Raider transcended just being a video game and became gaming royalty. There is nothing sudden about the power of Tomb Raider. Only for those that are short sighted. I trust gamers to be better than that tho.
Tomb Raider will do fine, and so will Fall Out 4...
They tend to make for some of the most interesting and memorable. Take into context that the game's hero is on a journey stop them. So establishing the why with a strong counter to the hero the villain needs to be formidable in all aspects to stand out.
People have really forgotten how iconic Tomb Raider/Lara Croft is. The fact that this is some kind of a debate at all is dumb. Fallout 4 has an audience from one generation, mind you a very impact-full one. Tomb Raider on the other hand has a legacy that can't be denied.
With a fantastic reboot with the Tomb Raider. The Xbox One looks like the console to be playing this holiday. On the same day you can get a sequel to one of the most popular new gaming franchises in Fall ...
There should be a line that gets crossed in gaming. That line is enjoying all gaming. No matter where it exists, and on what platform. I totally expect Phil Spencer, and Mr. Yoshida to play each others systems, as well as game titles. It gives them perspective, focuses on what quality looks like, how innovation is being consumed, and inspired to meet their rivals successes. You'd be a horrible leader if you don't respect your competition.
